sandbar

dreams dashed on a sandbar--

we stood on a sandbar once

quartz and shattered granules all rolled into one

i was whole on that sandbar

and that's something at least

we are all something

tell me something real

and regret is sand on your tongue

so we're swimmers

so we're explorers

so we're somewhere else

we did not write around tears

so now we're standing inb an ocean
